What is a wallet?

Your wallet is your identity on Drip. When you sign in with Google, email, or another method, we automatically create a secure wallet for you.

Think of it like:

Your wallet address is like a username that proves it's you. It's used to sign in and approve actions.

Auto-created means your wallet was set up automatically when you signed in with Google or email. You don't need to manage private keys or seed phrases.

What is a smart account?

Your smart account is where your funds live and where payments happen. It's a special account with built-in protections.

Think of it like:

If your wallet is your ID card, your smart account is your bank account. You use your ID (wallet) to authorize transactions from your bank (smart account).

Benefits of a smart account:

  • No gas fees - We cover transaction costs for you
  • Spending limits - Set monthly limits to control usage
  • Session keys - Approve recurring payments without signing each time
  • Security deposit - Protected by a refundable bond
